Miss Universe 2011 Winner is Miss Angola Leila Lopes

25 year Leila Lopes from Angola was crowned the 60th Miss Universe 2011 on Monday Night (Eastern Time) in the contest Finals held in Sao Paulo, Brazil on 12th September, 2011. She is the first Angolan to win the Miss Universe Crown at the 60th Anniversary of the World’s Most Famous Beauty Pageant. She beat out 88 other competitors to win the title. She was crowned by the last year’s winner, Ximena Navarrete of Mexico.

She was asked a question in an interview at the Final Round of Miss Universe Contest about the physical trait that she would like to change to which eloquently replied by saying her inner beauty as a woman and her principles mattered the most.

Her answer to Interviewer’s Question: “Thank God I’m very satisfied with the way God created me and I wouldn’t change a thing, I consider myself a woman endowed with inner beauty. I have acquired many wonderful principles from my family and I intend to follow these for the rest of my life.”

The first runner-up was 23-year-old Olesia Stefanko of Ukraine and the second runner-up was Priscila Machado of Brazil. The third was Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup and the fourth Miss China Zilin Luo.

The Contestants from 89 nations on six continents spent the past three weeks in Sao Paulo, where they learned samba dance steps, visited impoverished children and played football around for cameras as the world’s most awaited beauty contest was held in Brazil for the first time.
